Indigo Crow Taxidermy Restoration
❖
'Antique Taxidermy tells a story of a time period filled with exciting
scientific discoveries and expeditions into the “uncivilized” world.'

~Author unknown.

 ❖

Indigo Crow Taxidermy is able to clean and sympathetically repair most old and antique taxidermy. Dirty or damaged taxidermy and models can usually be restored (as closely as possible) to their original, naturalistic condition.

The services offered are:

• Cleaning fur, feathers and scales, removing oils, dust and dirt.

• Repairing breaks, replacing lost fur and feather

• Tooth, Horn and Antler repair.

• Filling and obscuring holes, scratches etc.

• Re-coloring faded areas (subject to fur condition).

●Tidying of case interiors and bases/plaque (decor).

The price is worked out according to the work involved.I am unable to give an estimate* of the costs until the specimen has been physically seen to assess the restoration that may be required.  If, on physical inspection, the specimen is considered beyond repair (or beyond financial repair), the customer will be told immediately, with no costs involved.

If the work required is beyond my expertise, I will happily refer you.

❖

No work will be started without written consent from the customer, and a non returnable deposit having been paid. Whilst all specimens will be handled with the utmost care,  as the taxidermy chemicals have changed over the years, without exact knowledge  of the original chemicals used (some are unknown), there is a small chance of adverse reactions with modern chemicals.  I will do my best at every situation, and will keep the customer informed throughout the process.
The customer must be fully aware that all taxidermy specimens are left at the customers own risk.
❖
*An estimate is an educated guess at what a job may cost - but it isn't binding.
To take account of possible unforeseen developments,  Indigo Crow Taxidermy will aim to provide several estimates based on various circumstances, including the worst-case scenario. This will prevent you from being surprised by the costs.

** A non returnable deposit is required to cover the costs of the time sourcing, and obtaining 'specimen specific' items required for the restoration of your taxidermy.
